Community Care through Movement
Di Stein is a personal trainer and wellness doula on a mission to help his community find a home in their bodies. We can't fight fascism, Sunday scaries, depression, anxiety, stress, low back pain, or any of life's challenges without a place to retreat, heal, and breathe. Luckily, we all live inside the perfect vessel already. The false dichotomy between body and mind has been preached into our bones from a young age. By breaking that narrative and reconnecting with our whole self, we can access the power and strength to stand up for ourselves and our communities.
As a personal trainer, Di focuses clients on their functional goals. What are the activities you love to do and how can we make them easier and more accessible to you? More fun?
As a wellness doula, Di helps clients find their way back into themselves and serves as a guide to providing care to the self that can be difficult to get from our taxing, noisy world.
Daily life is full of external forces screaming for our attention. The noise can be overwhelming- and our minds and bodies weren’t meant to process everything at once. The effect is numbing- disconnecting from the self because the pains are too deep, too non-specific, or too intense. The process for re-connecting starts with an acknowledgement: I can give myself the things I need to be well.
I’d like to help you take the next step.

I’m a trans-masc, queer millennial living with a chronic illness (H-EDS) and am in long-term recovery from C-PTSD and disordered eating. I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD since I was 15. I have experienced multi-year periods both on and off medication and I live with treatment resistant depression.
I share these things to demonstrate my familiarity with navigating the world in an “othered” condition. It’s important to me that any service I offer can be offered to any person, regardless of any label, diagnosis, or condition and I will make accommodations to best serve you however I can.
While I make a good faith effort to meet the needs of every potential client, there may be circumstances where the fit just isn’t there. I will always communicate honestly about what I can and cannot accommodate for any service.

I’m Di (pronounced like “dee”) he/him.
I’ve been training others since 2020 and went full time in November of 2025. My journey includes significant weight gain, serious injury, years of mental health treatment, and chronic illness.
Back in 2012, I was prescribed a medication that made me gain a lot of weight very quickly. I had always felt a disconnect between how I looked and how I felt, but the new weight gain changed the way I fit into the world. I lost touch with myself. The journey to reconnect has been ongoing for 15 years- and will continue the rest of my life.
The process of re-connecting with my body through movement includes weight lifting, bodyweight fitness, yoga, mindfulness, and many of hours of research in sports medicine, nutritional science, psychology, and mindfulness.
Over the years, I have worked with trainers and physical therapists, studied massage therapy, and practiced over one thousand hours of yoga. I’ve done significant amounts of research into everything you’ll see mentioned on my website.
After 14 years in IT, I realized I wasn’t willing to continue doing a desk job for the rest of my life. Before pursuing this, I spent a lot of time exploring what I might want to do professionally instead.
I changed my career because I wanted to share what I’ve learned with others. I believe everyone can find a home inside their bodies.
It’s increasingly difficult to do that these days with so many things distracting us and pulling our attention outside of ourselves. It is my life’s work to help others find peace through embodiment.
